Caning is a method of weaving chair seats and other furniture either while building new chairs or in the process of cane chair repair. The material used in caning chairs is derived from the peeled bark or skin of the rattan vine native to Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia.
If your chair has a groove around the seat opening, then choose Cane Webbing for replacing the seat. For open cane webbing measure from the center of one hole to the center of the next hole to determine the size of your old cane webbing. Cane Webbing is listed from smallest hole size to largest. Radio weave is listed from largest hole size to smallest.
